Netanyahu’s Address to Congress Made Me Miss Reagan

It was refreshing to hear a speech from that podium that wasn’t awash with platitudes and pointless alliterations.

The Israeli Prime Minister was gracious to Obama and respectful and appreciative of America.
He spoke plainly and with moral clarity as demonstrated when he said the following:

“Iran's regime is as radical as ever, its cries of "Death to America," that same America that it calls the "Great Satan," as loud as ever.

Now, this shouldn't be surprising, because the ideology of Iran's revolutionary regime is deeply rooted in militant Islam, and that's why this regime will always be an enemy of America.

Don't be fooled. The battle between Iran and ISIS doesn't turn Iran into a friend of America.

Iran and ISIS are competing for the crown of militant Islam. One calls itself the Islamic Republic. The other calls itself the Islamic State. Both want to impose a militant Islamic empire first on the region and then on the entire world. They just disagree among themselves who will be the ruler of that empire.

In this deadly game of thrones, there's no place for America or for Israel, no peace for Christians, Jews or Muslims who don't share the Islamist medieval creed, no rights for women, no freedom for anyone.
So when it comes to Iran and ISIS, the enemy of your enemy is your enemy.”

The Prime Minister also spoke forcefully and directly:

“But I can guarantee you this, the days when the Jewish people remained passive in the face of genocidal enemies, THOSE-DAYS-ARE-OVER!”

He followed by saying:

“This is why, as a prime minister of Israel, I can promise you one more thing: Even if Israel has to stand alone, Israel will stand.

But I know that Israel does not stand alone. I know that America stands with Israel.

I know that you stand with Israel.”

His address made me long for a strong American leader.  Hell, I’d settle for one who stops taking selfies and playing golf long enough to take seriously the threats to the United States.

I’ve Changed My Mind on Obama’s Executive Order on Illegal Immigration

Illegal aliens are currently signing up to receive Social Security numbers and work papers under Obama’s Executive order.  I’m OK with that because executive orders can be changed or cancelled at the next president’s discretion.
I think someone should let these illegal aliens know that by signing up, their names, addresses, and other information is now available to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.  And if a new president eliminates that executive order, or the courts block it, ICE will have a nice list of illegal residents.
My message to illegal aliens would be sign up at your own risk.
