Obama promises to eliminate earmarks from the trillions of dollars he plans to spend on his stimulus package. What was once derided as pork-barrel spending and earmarks is now called a stimulus package.
Please think about it for a minute. Obama is planning on giving away trillions of dollars of your money on various projects. Who should get the money for these projects? Which states should get it? Which contractors should get it? The allocation of these funds is guaranteed to be chock full of cronyism and corruption. And because the amount of money given away is unprecedented, the level of corruption is sure to be unprecedented.
I dare you to disagree.
